>Lomnia, I can define a set of properties I want to track, save that in the database and create charts that answer questions that I have.

Habits are a key thing for me to track, with them I can answer things like:

Which days of the year did I eat granola for breakfast?

What percentage of my food was healthy or not healthy?

How many coffee sessions have I had in the year?

How has my unassisted pull up progressed over the year?

How has the amount of “positive” mood entries changed over time?

All of the above wouldn’t be captured by my location, the weather or any other data point except for manually habit logging.

I tracked everything I could in 2024, here's the data

In February 2024, I embarked on a journey that I’d been contemplating for many years. I’ve always been fascinated with collecting data, visualising it, and looking back at patterns in my life. There’s something deeply satisfying about looking at myself through data.

A Snapshot of My Self-Hosted Journey in 2024

What started as a simple experiment with Pi-hole in February 2023 spiraled into a full-blown obsession with self-hosting.
Almost one year later, around Christmas time in 2023, I wanted to write a recap of my year self-hosting, but things happened and I never got around to writing about that. Now, two years into self-hosting, I regret not being able to go back and see how much farther I have come.
